Workshop

The pre-conference ISOP-sponsored workshop will take place on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020, from 10 am - 5 pm at the University of Kaiserslautern.

The focus will be on environmental sequence data processing and analyses. During the bioinformatics workshop you will learn (i) how to familiarize yourself with next-generation sequence data, (ii) how to choose and apply correct read quality controls, (iii) how to group reads into operational taxonomic units (OTUs)/amplicon sequence variants (asvs), (iv) how to infer taxonomic identities and (v) how to apply community statistics.

In the course of the workshop you will hear introducing lectures and you will work through the different steps using a training dataset. You will have the opportunity to ask specific questions regarding your data as well.

Computers, neccessary software and training datasets will be provided.
